FPL (Fantasy Premier League) is a football game with 11M+ players worldwide where you pick 15 Premier League players within a £100m budget and choose a formation. Below is the minimum you need to know — no fluff.

BPS (Bonus Point System): an internal score that adds/subtracts for every in-match event (shots, passes, tackles, fouls won, etc.). The top 3 BPS scorers in each match get bonus points.
Defensive Contributions: introduced in 2025/26. DEF earn +2 pts for CBIT (Clearances / Blocks / Interceptions / Tackles) ≥ 10; MID/FWD earn +2 pts for CBIRT (CBIT + Recoveries) ≥ 12. Capped at +2 pts per match (CBIT 20 does not give +4).
Assists (2025/26 revision): the definition was simplified so contributions to a goal are recognised more often. The last pass and plays that force an opponent's error are now more likely to count.
Captain: all of the above points are doubled. With Triple Captain, they're tripled.
Each week, name one starter as captain. Their points are doubled (tripled with Triple Captain).
You must also pick a Vice-captain. If your captain plays 0 minutes during the GW, the Vice takes over the double (1+ minute locks in the captain's score, regardless of points; the Vice then scores as a normal player).
⚠️ What's new in 2025/26: each of the 4 chips now comes in a “first half” (GW1–19) and a “second half” (GW20–38) edition (8 chips total). The first-half chips expire if not used by the GW19 deadline 18:30 GMT (30 Dec) — they don't roll over. You also can't stack multiple chips in the same GW (official rule).
Both occur due to fixture conflicts (e.g. FA Cup), most often in the second half of the season.
